The President of Ebonyi State University, Students Union Government (SUG) distinguished COMRADE OGBU EMMANUEL O Popularly addressed by the students as Ogbu Issa Goal has cautioned the entire students of the university not to pay a token to any bank or individuals as regards to the purported GST maintenance fee directed by the University General Study Unit to pay by the students particularly the year one students.

He gave the charge during the New Year festival known as Oke Aku Ezzakuna organized by The Students Of National Association of Ezza Ezekuna Perm site annex campus of Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki today 7th August, 2018 at D Base Bar Ishieke. Comr Ogbu Emmanuel expressed displeasure over the reactions of Student's on the payment.
He said that since the inception of Ebonyi state university, it was the first time such money was asked to pay by the students. He maintained that his administration was concerned with the welfare and predicaments of the students and promised to protect the interest of the student's as their leader. Comr Ogbu Emmanuel unveiled some packages by his administration particularly as it concerns the program been championed by the GT BANK (GTB Nigeria) in collaboration with his office. He stated that the money will only be paid when the General Study unit explained vividly the reason behind the purported payment, and advised students to redraw for making any further payment in regard to that. He made known that his is a product of Ezza Ezekuna, as the origin of Onicha LGA is traceable from Ezza nation. He used undisclosed amount of money to support the festival.
Earlier, the National President of Abakaliki Block Student Comr Ifeanyi Anyigor Eze AKA OSHIOMHOLE, commended the leadership style of Comr Ogbu and pointed out that his emergence as the SUG President was ordained by God following the what transpired before his emergence.

Contributing, the President of Ezza Ezekuna Students perm site chapter Comr Ude Alieze Uzuakpunwa lauded Ogbu for being concern with the issues that relates to students and reiterated his readiness to help facilitate his administration.
He advised him to carry their brother, Comrade Oguzor Franklin who is the SUG Secretary along as Ezza nation is solidly behind his Government.
