EBSU SUG Election Tensions As State High Court Gives Order for No Election

STATE HIGH COURT SITTING IN ABAKALIKI ORDERS FOR NO SUG ELECTION IN EBSU

The state high Court sitting in Abakaliki has today 10th May, 2018 orders the Dean students affairs of Ebonyi state university to restrain from conducting SUG election tomorrow 11th May,  2018 pending a substantive suite or face legal sanctions.

The order came following an injunction filed together by Hon Sunday Inyima (commissioner of land, survey and housing), and COMR ODONO PETER AFAM a presidential candidate who was disqualified for a gang up reason, restraining the Eleco members and Dean students affairs unit from conducting SUG election.

Justice Oyetenu gave the directive this morning after receiving the anterluctory injunction from the two parties who alleged that ODONO PETER AFAM disqualification was a calculated attempt to Mar his ambition as he is the only candidate that is at the verge of wining in the context.

Meanwhile, the Dean students affairs on recieving the court order this morning affirm to abide by the court order pending the substantive. In another development, some supporters of ODONO PETER AFAM drawn from all the campuses IN EBSU were seen as at the time of filing this report at CAS campus intensifying effort to protect if the Dean dares to go contrary to the court order by going on with manifesto today. Also, all the serving commissioners, STA,  TA, board members or chairmen, Heads of department in any ministry, house of Assembly members from OHAUKWU LGA were said to have floated government house right away to see the governor over the injustice and inhumane act done to ODONO PETER AFAM.

Ebsucommunity has confirmed from one of the SUG Senators, Ezebuiro Nnamdi (Senator representing Faculty of Education) that the issue has been resolved and the election still holds tomorrow being 11/06/2018
