AN OVERVIEW OF THE DEVELOPMENTAL STRIDES GOING ON IN EBONYI STATE
UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF HIS EXCELLENCY, CHIEF. ENGR. (Dr) APOSTLE. DAVID
NWEZE UMAHI (FNSE, FNATE)
The Ebonyi Story reads much like the text of a modern Epic.
It is the Story of a people who found themselves at the receiving end of history and their Heroic efforts to change the debilitating circumstances of their existence by taking their destiny in their own hands.
Ebonyi State is a State in the Southeastern Nigeria
inhabited and populated primarily by the Igbo and has its capital and
largest City in Abakaliki. Other Major towns include Afikpo, Onueke,
Edda, Onicha, etc.
It was one of the six States created in 1st October 1996 by the then Federal Military Government Led by General Sani Abacha and has about 2,176,947 Population as at 2006 Census.
Ebonyi State was First ruled by Walter Feghabo who served as the First
Military Administrator of Ebonyi State in Nigeria from 7th October 1996
to August 1998.
AIG Simeon Olasukanmi Oduoye who was a Nigerian Police Officer took over office in August, 1998 and left in May, 1999.
In 1999, was Dr. Sam Ominyi Egwu who was elected as the First Democratic Governor under the PDP and reelected for a second term in 2003 under same PDP making it a complete Eight (8) years for the Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone.
He was succeeded by Chief Martin N. Elechi of Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone who was elected in 2007 and successfully ran for a reelection in 2011, under the same PDP completing same Eight wonder working years.
Governor Martin N. Elechi was succeeded by the Current Five Star working Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Chief (Dr.) David Nweze Umahi (FNSE, FNATE), who was elected in March 2015 Gubernatorial election in his first term from the Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone of the Ebonyi State.
Ebonyi State indeed
has experienced few white Elephant Development and Capital Oriented
Projects from the past two governments that handed over to the ebullient
wonder working Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi, some still
undergoing rehabilitation by the incumbent government with some
inherited as liabilities to the present government.
Ebonyi was a
state her Citizens was never proud to confess coming from. Truly,
there's a saying that when the Righteous is on the Throne, the people
rejoice.
Since the entrance of David Umahi into the moving train to pilot the affairs of the Ebonyi State, Ebonyians have indeed witnessed tremendous changes in so many areas ranging from good infrastructure, good road network, good and well supervised Security Networks, Quality Health Care Delivery, Twelve (12) Hours Steady Street Lights, proper maintenance of the dilapidated projects within and outside the confined of the capital city.
Taking a second look at Abakaliki, the
Capital City of Ebonyi State since the inception of Ebonyi State present
Boss, His Excellency, Chief David Nweze Umahi will tell you more about
Ebonyi of the former and the present.
Also visiting the Major Cities mentioned earlier will tell you that Akubaruoha is really working.
David Umahi in the Area of Human Empowerment has mapped out and
Completed so many Empowerment Programmes both for the Youths, Women,
less privileged, Farmers, elders, and Workers in Ebonyi State; all
geared toward bettering the lots of our Ebonyians who can't afford even a
square meal.
He has also involved Youths in his Cabinets ranging from appointment of so many as Technical Assistant and Senior Technical Assistant, SA's, SSA's, Commissioners, Heads of Government Agencies, Coordinators of Development Centres, Council Bosses and so many others.
There's always a saying that he who wore a shoe knows where it pinches,
there's no doubts also that Governor Umahi having witnessed the
sufferings of the people of Ebonyi State and the dejection we do face
from our brother Eastern States has decided to bring Democracy and
Development to our door steps.
Notwithstanding, Ebonyi is very
safe in the hand of David Umahi than in the hands of millions who may
not have contributed in any way to better the lots of our State, than
staying in Abuja using mouth to rule us.
Though, the wind must
blow, the sun will set, and rise but be rest assured that David Umahi's
Second Term Bid is not "NEGOTIABLE"
We are neither not aware of the recent Critics going on the Social Media pages against the good plans our Governor has for Ebonyians, and I want to challenge them (the Critics) to be very constructive as nobody is an Island of knowledge, he may not know it all but only your little prayers can make the changes you yawn and wish should be affected.
To my Fellow Esteemed
Ebonyians both Home and in the Diaspora, it is high time we come home,
rally round and reward the good works of the wonder working Governor
with a Continuity ticket for I think Ebonyi is very safe in his hands.
I believe so much that the only thing you can tell a blind man is that
there's no oil in a soup; as for Salt, Pepper, Meat, Maggi, he must
surely know.
Ebonyi politics has gone beyond Facebook ranting and critics against a Government, for I so much believe that every Government is instituted by God and only him can furnish the leaders with all Arsenals they may need to go for war or defend their enemies.
Ebonyi politics has gone beyond Facebook ranting and critics against a Government, for I so much believe that every Government is instituted by God and only him can furnish the leaders with all Arsenals they may need to go for war or defend their enemies.
Ebonyi belong to all of us and only the good work of a man speaks for him and not mere mouth watering promises.
Let there be love and let's allow Umahi to continue the good works and
the lead, for more rapid Development awaits us in his remaining Five (5)
Years Anniversary.
Let there be Equity in the leadership and governance of Ebonyi State; for he who goes to Equity must come with clean hands.
Ebonyi North 8 Years, Central 8 years and South 8 Years.
I can see an Ebonyi State where Companies look for who to get employed under Umahi's Second term in office.
