EBSU Student Dies Again....

ASUU had twelve  days ago at the Federal University of Technology Akure,  FUTA, Ondo State declared indefinite strike over the Federal Government refusal to honour its 2009 agreements it freely entered with the Union. Besides, the N1.1 trillion expected from the Federal Government to fund education in Nigerian public universities, ASUU is equally asking for the government to address some lingering issues in the University of Ilorin, Lagos State University and Kwara State University, among others and this singular act has led to the death of a student who graduated from EBSU (EBONYI STATE UNIVERSITY) last two months but was waiting for his project defense which was scheduled to hold the week ASUU went on strike and had made the student to stay longer than he should. 

Yesterday it was reported that he was involved in a motor accident and died when he was being rushed to the hospital which could have been avoided if ASUU was diligent enough not to have embarked on strike.

This was made known to us by a friend who posted about the death on his facebook wall....

Joe my man, I was with you in the hostel around this time yesterday, we were together yesterday at international conference center Abakaliki, we celebrated the international students day celebration together, I told u I was gonna see u when I come back just for u not to make it to the hostel, I was there with u in the hospital but all I could hear when u turn u ur hand and ur leg is the sound of ur broken bones, I held u telling u that u r gonna make it, I called u Joseph and u answered me, like joke like play I left the hospital just to change my clothes and come back and I couldn't even meet u alive again, all I could feel was ur cold body and just like a movie I saw u being taken of emergency unit as a corpse.U couldn't make it to defend ur project, u couldn't make it to ur dreams and life aspirations, just when ur parents have finished training u in school hoping u would start looking after them, just when life was making more sense to u, just when everything was beginning to fall into place, death took u away.What a life, what a wicked and cruel world.
