The primary functions of the FRSC include ensuring the safety of highways and reducing the rate of road traffic accidents, educating drivers, passengers, and other road users on proper safety measures, enforcing road traffic regulations, and conducting research on road safety.


The FRSC also issues driver's licenses and vehicle number plates, and it has the authority to prosecute traffic offenders. The agency operates across Nigeria, with headquarters in Abuja and zonal and sector commands in different states.


The FRSC has been instrumental in reducing the number of road traffic accidents and fatalities in Nigeria through its various programs, campaigns, and enforcement strategies.

Job Description:


The Officer (MBBS) Cadre is a position within the Medical Department of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Nigeria. It is a senior-level position that requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree and a valid medical license.


Responsibilities:


Medical Services: The Officer (MBBS) Cadre is responsible for providing medical services to FRSC personnel and road traffic accident victims. They assess and treat injuries, provide medical advice, and coordinate with hospitals and other medical facilities for further treatment.


Public Health: The Officer (MBBS) Cadre is responsible for providing public health education and promoting healthy lifestyles. They educate the public on road safety measures and provide guidance on how to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.


Research: The Officer (MBBS) Cadre is responsible for conducting medical research on road traffic accidents and other public health issues. They use this research to develop new strategies for improving road safety and public health.


Training and Development: The Officer (MBBS) Cadre is responsible for training and developing junior medical staff members. They ensure that staff members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.


Administration: The Officer (MBBS) Cadre is responsible for managing the administrative functions of the Medical Department, including budgeting, planning, and staff management. They ensure that the Medical Department operates efficiently and effectively.


Data Management: The Officer (MBBS) Cadre is responsible for collecting and managing data on road accidents, medical treatments, and other public health-related information. They use this data to improve medical services, develop new medical policies, and monitor the effectiveness of existing policies.

Qualification:

Candidates must possess the following:

i. Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution of higher learning in Medicine

ii. NYSC Discharge Certificate.
