The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) is a Nigerian government agency responsible for promoting road safety and reducing road traffic accidents in Nigeria. The agency was established in 1988 and operates under the Federal Ministry of Transportation.



The primary functions of the FRSC include ensuring the safety of highways and reducing the rate of road traffic accidents, educating drivers, passengers, and other road users on proper safety measures, enforcing road traffic regulations, and conducting research on road safety.


The FRSC also issues driver's licenses and vehicle number plates, and it has the authority to prosecute traffic offenders. The agency operates across Nigeria, with headquarters in Abuja and zonal and sector commands in different states.


The FRSC has been instrumental in reducing the number of road traffic accidents and fatalities in Nigeria through its various programs, campaigns, and enforcement strategies.

RMA (Road Marshal Assistant) Cadre 

Job Location: Nationwide

Job Description:


The RMA (Road Marshal Assistant) Cadre is a position within the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Nigeria. It is an entry-level position that requires a minimum of a secondary school certificate. 


Responsibilities:


Road Safety Management: The RMA Cadre is responsible for assisting in the management of road safety operations in Nigeria. This includes ensuring the safety of road users, enforcing road traffic regulations, and reducing the number of road traffic accidents 


Traffic Control: The RMA Cadre is responsible for directing traffic and ensuring that road users obey traffic rules and regulations. They also ensure the smooth flow of traffic on highways, especially during peak periods.


Rescue Operations: The RMA Cadre is trained to provide first aid and emergency rescue operations to accident victims. They are often the first responders at the scene of a road traffic accident and play a critical role in saving lives.


Public Education: The RMA Cadre is also responsible for educating the public on road safety measures, including the proper use of seat belts, speed limits, and other road safety rules.


Data Management: The RMA Cadre is responsible for collecting and managing data on road accidents, traffic flow, and other road safety-related information. They use this data to improve road safety management and develop road safety policies.


Requirements: 


a. Road Marshal Assistant II

Qualifications Applicants must possess minimum of 5 credits in SSCE/GCE (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) which must include English Language and Mathematics 


b. Road Marshal Assistant III

Qualifications Minimum of three (3) credits in SSCE (WAEC/NECO) or NABTEB, one of the credits must be in English Language.


c. Artisans and Tradesmen

Artisans and Tradesmen may apply under this category. Those applying for the posts of Computer Operators, Drivers, Mechanics, Motorcycle Riders, Electricians, Instrumentalists, Tailors, Plumbers, etc must possess the following:

i. A minimum of 4 passes in SSCE (WAEC/NECO) or NABTEB.

ii. Trade Test and or other professional Certificates.

iii. Drivers and Riders must have the appropriate class of Driver’s Licence.


d. Drivers and Riders

i. Drivers and Riders MUST have appropriate class of valid National Driver’s License

ii. Trade Test and or other professional Certificates.

iii. Attempted SSCE/GCE (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB)
