Rainoil Limited is a leading participant in Nigeria's oil and gas industry, offering a comprehensive range of downstream services. These services cover the entire downstream value chain, encompassing Petroleum Product Storage, Haulage/Distribution, and Retail Sales. The company's core offerings consist of Petrol (PMS), Diesel (AGO), and Kerosene (DPK).

Tax Manager


Job Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Job type: Full-time (Onsite)


Description 


To ensure that the organization complies with all tax laws and regulations and to reduce tax liabilities as much as possible.



Responsibilities:


  • The person in charge will lead the tax planning process and ensure that the organization minimizes tax liabilities and exposures.

  • Provide internal tax advisory services to business departments and divisions to promote tax efficiency. For instance, this can involve payroll structuring.

  • The overseer will be responsible for ensuring the preparation of all relevant tax computations such as CIT, WHT, VAT, PAYE, among others.

  • The individual in charge will create an efficient tax record management, updating, and reporting process and oversee its implementation.

  • Ensure that all tax payments made by Rainoil and/or employees have receipts and clearance certificates collected.

  • Put measures in place and collaborate with relevant colleagues to facilitate timely processing and remittance of tax payments and the reconciliation of all tax accounts.

  • Stay updated on current tax practices and regulations in the industry and provide proactive advice to management when necessary.

  • Conduct regular in-house tax reviews and supervise the preparation of tax self-assessments.

  • Respond promptly and ensure adequate follow-up to resolve any tax inquiries raised by the Tax authorities.

  • Collaborate and monitor the performance of retained tax consultants on tax issues and provide reports to the Group Head - Finance when necessary.

  • Review the calculation of royalties and technical fees as necessary.

Requirements:

  • The job requires candidates to have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance/Accounting or a related field. 

  • In addition, candidates must hold professional certifications, such as the Chartered Institute of Taxation in Nigeria (CITN) or equivalent international qualifications, as well as ACA from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or ACCA from the Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants. 

  • A minimum of five years of combined experience in consultancy and/or functional Tax, including specialization within the Oil & Gas industry, is also necessary.
