Job Location: Lagos
Job Type: Full-time (Onsite)


Description:


To handle the chartering of vessels, transfers between ships, refueling, unloading of products, ensuring product quality, and maintaining accurate documentation and records.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensures prompt vessel availability for product delivery.

  • Monitors the receipt and offloading timelines and processes to minimize demurrage incidents.

  • Obtains the loading order and sends voyage details to the vessel captain via email.

  • Receives cast-off reports from the vessel captain and forwards them to the port's operations manager.

  • Uses the fleet management module to monitor the vessel's voyage status and determine its location coordinates.

  • Prepares progress reports on vessel monitoring, including current positions, off-track distances, estimated arrival times, identified issues, and recommendations.
  • Implements a proactive safety-conscious environment in line with the company's health and safety policy.

  • Confirms vessel availability for hire by requests from interested parties.

  • Creates a vessel allocation schedule.

  • Collaborates with the finance department to secure funds or bank loans for product importation.

  • Maintains strong relationships with shipping lines to negotiate better bargains and services.

  • Facilitates operations for off-loading, product shortage logistics, and ship-to-ship transfers.

  • Documents and keeps records of shipping transactions and ensures proper delivery to relevant authorities.

  • Prepares post-operations reports for the Trading Manager's review.

  • Interfaces with government agencies, including NPA, customs, NIMASA, DPR, etc., to comply with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, Engineering, or a related field at a minimum.

  • Candidates must have 0-2 years of relevant experience in the Trading and Marine sectors of the Oil and Gas industry.
